I had the honor of painting this beautiful family for their wedding, and now I get to paint them with their adorable pups in front of their new home. I feel so lucky to have painted this cute pup, Guster! Guster's dog mom @afbauer2 describes him as..⠀ ⠀ "the apple of our eye and full of big personality. He is cute, cunning, cuddly, curmudgeonly, demanding, hilarious (not on person) and just the center of our world. This last year has brought lots of hard times to our family and he has been the stoic support for whoever needs him the most. He intuitively knows who is in pain and guards and protects that person. Every night at bedtime this family tells stories about Bob the Cat and Tom the Dog and the adventures they have. This little boy's mom contacted me to illustrate the characters in their bedtime story. What an amazing keepsake for this little boy to remember the imaginative stories that he and his sweet momma created! ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ We just lost our sweet dog, Zeus last night. I am feeling more aware than ever of how vital pets are as members of our families. We will miss Zeus, but I am grateful that he had a long, happy life!

Meet the Marsh family! You all know I love a patterned dress! // Today our Tuesdays together group talked about taking creative risks. Today I was not able to attend the meeting because I was painting with 21 kindergarteners at the time. Talk about a creative risk! 😂 Currently reflecting on what steps I can take in my business and life that might be a little scary, but in the long run will be worth it. So... I will be honest. It has been hard to post my artwork the past few weeks considering all of the hard things going on in the world. My heart has been heavy thinking about the people who have been displaced by hurricanes or forest fires. As a country we collectively mourn the loss of those who lost their lives on 9/11. In the midst of all of these tough times, I am proud to see communities working together to rebuild after disasters, natural and manmade. ⠀ ⠀ Anyways, here is a painting of a two dogs because dogs make me smile maybe they will be a happy distraction for you too.
